Breaking out.... suggestions please?

Post by dusty0318 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 1:19 pm

I'm breaking out where the mask touches the bridge of my nose and along my chin where it sits. I clean my face with Proactiv but it isn't controlling the breakouts. I wash the mask in baby shampoo. Thoughts are welcomed.

Consider getting a Mask Liner for your mask. You can look at http://www.remzzzzs.com and http://www.padacheeck.com for more information. Additionally, if you have problems with leaks, they also help reduce that issue.

Dusty
In a pinch you can make a mask liner.....for me silicone DOES NOT touch my face. I use Karens liners at padacheek.com but you can try this for instant help. Take a well washed white cotton t-shirt, lay it out and place your mask on it. Trace around your mask but leave an extra 3/4 of an inch all round. Now, take your mask off and cut the fabric where you have drawn, cut a nose or mouth hole and voila you have an instant mask liner that will do you until you can take a look at others and order a permanent one.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

My sleep nurse told me not to use a liner.

Karen's liners are a must have item. I use a Swift LT and the barrel cozy has made my mask wonderful. I am going to order a second one very soon so I have a back up and can swap when I do wash.

I have more than one type of mask. If and when my skin starts to break down, I change the mask.

Your sleep nurse is not wearing it on your skin. Liners actually help with leak issues.
