Adjustment phase for a Newbie CPAP user ?

I have been using a CPAP since 2008. During the recent 2 week period when my old machine died and I got my new one, I was EXTREMLY uncomfortable not wearing my mask. I am one of the lucky ones that had NO problem adjusting.

In 2008, I tried several different types of masks. I am a mouth breather so a full face mask is my only choice. My mask is almost like a security blanket!

I am surprised nobody has suggested looking into "Pad-A-Cheek" for the comfort issues. Do a forum search for more info.

An update on our situation- Thank you all for your responses and advice.

I called the DME and said hubby wanted to try the Nasal pillows and decide for himself if he can handle the pressure.
And guess what ? ! he's comfortable with the Swift FX. DOESNT FEEL LIKE A BLOWDRYER UP THE NOSE Like the DME had told us !!
So so glad I posted here to check for advice
For the first time in all these days he slept for a full 7 hours !!! A Huge difference compared to the Mirage Quattro . Fingers crossed that it stays that way ( X )

Why am I not surprised? Good to see that hubby likes the pillows and doesn't feel like a blowdryer is attached to his nose. And good to see that you've learned to take what the DME says with a rather large grain of salt.
