Yeah, how do we get on your mailing list, Jedi? I'm pretty techie, and work in beta testing, but I'm just on that cusp where I don't know how to compile from SVN yet...

I'm gonna have to discourage the use of the acronym PAP... too reminiscent of pap smear for my tastes!

I'm gonna go think...

I did look at the replies but it's possible I'll repeat some:

somnidat
somnidata
droom ("dream" in Afrikaans and, I think, Hungarian.)
apnea wellness check
apnea wellness checker
apnea fitness data
CPAP fitness data
CPAP wellness check/checker

I like Tip10's suggestion, OSCAR -- Open Source Code Apnea Resource. It's a real word, easy to pronounce, and spells out what it means.

Good suggestions.. Please keep em coming.

We'll do a poll soon and you'll be able to pick the winner.

Nothing that much wrong with it, however changing the name was just something Troy and myself agreed on when joining forces to tackle this stuff.

Our project goals include more than just Sleep/CPAP tracking.. We eventually will be tracking things generally related to health and well-being along with sleep stuff. (Sleep health will still the primary theme though)

In the end, we both agreed that you guys will get to vote on it.. We will both hand pick a few of our favourites from here, and we will put them up in a poll. (Which we should probably get off our butts and do.. I'll ask Troy)

SleepyHead is just a codename for the moment, as a carry over from my previous Python/early C++ work.. Keeping it may very well end up being a Poll option.

I googled lots of possibilities, but anything containing "Sleep" seems already spoken for. Some other possibilities:
  • HoseHead
    HoseMaster
    SleepyBegone
HoseHead has negative connotations to me.

HoseMaster is already used, but in different fields (metal hoses for mining, photography).

SleepyBegone unites what brings us together with our desire to conquer it.

I quite like SleepyHead also.

Additional Comments: Pressure is 11-14. Old CPAP was a Resmed S6 Lightweight. Also have Profile lite mask. ResScan is actually version 3.14. Now I use Sleepyhead.

Any updates on whether the alpha/beta? version of the software can handle ResMed-format data yet?
