...because if I did sleep eight hours straight, I'd probably drown in my own drool-filled full-face mask.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I should worry about (ie, is it a sign of apneas) or is it harmless? And is there any way to fix it? I can't really tape my mouth shut because I sometimes have trouble breathing through my nose (one reason I wanted the full-face mask to begin with). I suppose I could lay on my back (instead of my side, with my face tilted towards my pillow), but it seems I sleep worse and my AHI is higher when I sleep on my back.
Maybe it's a good thing I wake up every couple of hours...

Can you turn the thing on the mask where the hose connects? Maybe you can point it such that the pressure is aimed more directly at the drool, causing it to evaporate more quickly.W_HAMILTON wrote:And is there any way to fix it?
What do your AHI numbers look like? If the numbers are okay and you are feeling okay, the drool might be more of a cosmetic issue, though I could also imagine that the wet could lead to mask leakages as well as skin problems.
I'd take drool over bad sleep and high AHI.W_HAMILTON wrote:I suppose I could lay on my back (instead of my side, with my face tilted towards my pillow), but it seems I sleep worse and my AHI is higher when I sleep on my back.

I haven't checked the reports lately, but in general it seemed that my AHI was 1-2 higher when I would sleep on my back for a portion of the night. This means that instead of having an AHI of 2 or 3, I would be closer to 5 or so.
