Cpap and Naps
Re: Cpap and Naps
I do take naps daily. Fibromyalgia makes me so tired that I have to lay down for a couple of hours. I always use my cpap. Never go to sleep without it.

Re: Cpap and Naps
I try not to nap without it. I know what happens. My first nap on the couch after I got my recording oximeter, my O2 dropped to 68%. If I really want a nap, I go get in bed. I have my S9 on one of those plastic 3 drawer units ($12) so I can move the whole thing easily... but I just don't doze off like I used to.

Hi Sheriff
Just use an oximeter with the alarm set to stop you desaturating.
Enjoy your naps

Re: Cpap and Naps
I nap every day I am off from work, and use my CPAP every time I go to bed to do it. It takes the pressure off complying at night: I might only get a few hours of sleep at night and the half-hour of napping has popped me over the 4-hour mark a few times. Plus, it's easy to wear the mask for short amounts of time. Might as well do what's easy.
But starting around May, I love to fall asleep in the sun, usually in a nearby park. (After all, that is what summer is for: napping in the sun). I don't use my machine on those days.
A nap is a sweet little sip from the cup of wellbeing.

Re: Cpap and Naps
I have taken naps w/out my machine in my recliner a couple of times and felt ok afterward. Today I laid down on the bed on the third floor (no xPAP) and thought I'd sleep on my side to mitigate against problems. Didn't work. Stayed on my side, but woke up with heart pounding and foggy head. Still suffering cobwebs an hour later. Lesson learned.

Re: Cpap and Naps
I have been off work for a month after surgery and have napped almost every day. I do so out of boredom not because of being tired. I keep telling myself I will NOT nap so I can fall asleep and stay asleep better at night but it hasn't worked yet.

I work a full time retail job. I had surgery with complications in June and don't go back to work for another week. Been napping out of bordom w/o my CPAP and feel drugged when I wake up. Personally, I think naps make you feel worse.

Napping is no different than sleeping at night. Use the machine every time you sleep!
