Bizarre Sleep Data - 80 years of data in one night!

Post by AndyCelt » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:48 am

Very, very bizarre data from last night. When I uploaded the data to Onkor the data says that I slept from 6/2/2011 16:31:41 - 10/2/2092 12:46:00. Eat your heart out Rip Van Winkle! I slept 80 years! And look at the chart - aside from some heavy OSA at the beginning I had 79 years of sleep free of OSA!

On a more serious note - WTF? Any ideas what caused this or how to resolve it? I'm very disappointed not to have useful data from last night. My equipment data is below.

Yeah, that Onkor graph is clearly being triggered by some bug in Onkor that needs to be tracked down.

But for trying to get useful data from the night: Have you tried downloading SleepyHead, which is another free piece of software being developed by a forum member named jedimark. Jedimark makes no claims that SleeypHead is ready for primetime since he describes is as alpha. But the wave form data is there and just as nice as the wave form data in Onkor. You might find SleepyHead manages to make more sense of the data than Onkor did. And if SleepyHead also thinks you slept for 80 years, then you've got some additional evidence that maybe your xPAP is recording the time stamps incorrectly or perhaps your computer is misreading the time stamps for some reason.

Your sig also indicates that you've got a copy of Encore Viewer. While you don't get the wave form data in Encore, it's also worth looking at the data for the night in Encore Viewer. And if EV also thinks you slept for 80 years, then you know for sure the problem is in the xPAP or your computer.

So---can you post images of the same night's data viewed in SleepyHead and EncoreViewer?

Hi robysue,

No I cannot. I am a Mac user who does not yet have bootcamp & windows installed so I do not yet have the capability to do so. I went ahead and removed the Encore Viewer from my signature to avoid confusion until I have a chance to get up and running with it.

Thanks, Andy

Hi,

I've seen that type of display occasionally in my own results.

Its a fault in the data recorded to the card. The waveform wont show up in Encore, although the events, pressure etc. will, as that night's waveform file is corrupt in some way. Sleepyhead can sometimes load those data and display the waveform when Encore or Onkor can't.

I don't think its the fault of Onkor at all.

Either that or Slow Light is at work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_light
Sleep Long, and Prosper.

Try a different night's data files to see if those will work. It does not appear to be scoring anything at all. No events at all which is not normal.

All other night's sleep data appear to record a full night's sleep with various events, mostly OSA's. Just this one night appears to be problematic.

Thank you Pugsy.
