Another S9 Question
Another S9 Question
I'm on my third week with the S9 ASV unit. I have a data question. Sometimes when I download the data in the morning there is nothing for AHI until maybe halfway thru the nite. Have I just not had any events or is there a problem with the software / machine?
Thanks

Re: Another S9 Question
I don't think this is unusual. Some folks have events during certain times at night or during a particular sleep stage. I notice my events go up when I sleep longer (over the weekend).

That looks to me like it must be good news! Congrats. Still waiting for mine...JeffH wrote:I'm on my third week with the S9 ASV unit. I have a data question. Let me clarify. When I say nothing I mean nothing, no line or anything. The AHI line on the graph isnt' there for a period of time. Sometimes in the morning the line runs past when the machine shows to be stopped! Strange.

Re: Another S9 Question
Keep in mind that the machine records from midnight to noon. So make sure you are downloading after 12 noon of that day.

Re: Another S9 Question
Really? Is that a user-adjustable time frame? What if this does not coincide with your sleep schedule. Let's take someone who goes to bed at 10 p.m. Does that mean the first two hours of that person's data are never recorded or analyzed?msradar65 wrote:Keep in mind that the machine records from midnight to noon. Re: Another S9 Question
What radar meant to say is the S9 24 hour day goes from noon to noon. If you download data before noon, and then use the machine again between the download time and noon, the next time you download you can miss some data. The date day stamp in Resscan is for the data from noon of that day to noon of the next day, i.e., 6/2 data goes from noon 6/2 to noon 6/3.sleepwellmylove wrote:Really? Actually, the best practice is to download anytime after you get up in the morning, but do not use the machine again until after noon o'clock if you downloaded before noon. The only people who have a problem with the the noon to noon cycle of the S9, and getting proper downloads, are the ones who sleep during the day through noon o'clock. In that case they would be better off to set the S9 clock ahead by 12 hours and just remember that in Resscan am would be pm and vice versa.

Jeff, is there data on the event line? Or flow that appears to be events?
I have that offset in the lines occasionally but it is usually less than a minute. Just like the skew between the flag and the event... I never know if the other lines are off too. I still don't get what causes that. It's random.

Re: Another S9 Question
You see a zero line for AHI, right? The AHI graph resets to zero every hour, on the hour (clock time) I believe. It goes up a notch for every event during any given one hour period. The AHI shown at the end of the hour is simply the number of events during the past hour divided by one hour. The next hour it starts over. That means the AHI graph line value does not correspond to the AHI number on the statistics page.JeffH wrote:Let me clarify. When I say nothing I mean nothing, no line or anything. As for the lines not all ending the same time, the explanation is simple, really! The four data files do not always have the exact same start time for start of recording. Why? Don't know! Three of the data files, the PLD, the BRP, and the SAD, end on an exact one minute time length because of how the S9 records data. The EVE file contains only annotations, not periodic data. This means all data for flow, pressure, etc., from 1 second to 59 seconds after the one minute mark (recording time length, not clock) is lost. But an event can occur during that time and get noted in the EVE file. In that case Resscan will show an event after flow stops.
All times in the data files are recorded as elapsed time added to the recording start time. How close to clock time the recording start time is, I do not know but am convinced it can be off by up to 30 to 50 seconds. Do not assume any time shown in Resscan to be any closer than about 30 seconds to real time.

Re: Another S9 Question
I just looked at some of my AHI graphs. Resscan does not draw a line until the first event occurs. The AHI line is reset every hour of elapsed time, not clock time.

Assume you have date and time set correctly.

Re: Another S9 Question
So if I understand what you are saying if you had a night with zero AHI's then there would be no line in the data the next day.idamtnboy wrote:I just looked at some of my AHI graphs. Also,if it was two hours into sleep when the first event happened, there would be no line in the data until that event.
