Extending S9 hoses

Post by Mask2fit » Mon May 16, 2011 10:22 pm

Can you extend either the Climate line or the lightweight hose? In the case of the Climate line I need about 20cms more and in the case of the slim line, I need to approx double it.

Can anyone tell me the exact measurement of a 2metre (6ft) standard hose? I dont own one

Can you use a standard hose on the S9?

It seems the slimline is a shorter hose than most but I can't say with certainty. I don't believe you can extend either. If you manage to do it, I would make sure the readings from the machine are not affected by using a longer hose.

Yes, you can use a standard hose on the S9. Be sure to adjust the hose settings to "standard". Just push in the button with 2 check marks and you get to the settings menu. The hose settings are the first ones listed.

Thanks Laos film Director. Do you have a 2 metre standard hose that you could measure and give me the actual length?

I wouldn't extend the hose. I could be wrong, but your machine is designed to deliver a certain amount of pressure, a certain distance, and under a "given" resistance (IE: a six foot hose, whatever resistance the machine provides and the bend(s) in the hose). If you extend the hose, then I suppose you'll get wacky, inacurate readings and improper therapy. I would consider using the standard hose length and solve your problem with placement of the machine.

For some reason, this reminds me of when I was a kid in Jersey making subs at a deli. People would ask how long the 12-inch sub was all the time...

I'm just kidding around. OP, there's two more sold by our host which are a little longer and may suit you a little better:

8 feet: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/8-foot ... -ends.html

10 feet: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/10-foo ... -ends.html

Hope that helps!

It does sound a daft question doesnt it. But it is not. The 2 metre climate line hose supplied with S9 is not quite 2 metres. I wanted to find out exactly how long the standard "2 metre" hose is. Are people saying it is exactly 6 ft?

I have the answer now thanks. The standard hose I have been lent and the Climate line are exactly the same. All a bit mysterious because on another thread I saw people had hose wraps that were too short or too long for the Climate line
