How often do you replace the soft nose piece? I have been on mine for about 3 months and wonder if I need a replacement. It feels like the sides are blowing out.

I replace them every 6 months because that is what my Insurance allows but would like to replace them about every 4 months

Swift FX works well for slide sleepers.

Left side mostly--when I wake up with a leak--I'm on my back.
Right side is a 'no' until I find a mask that doesn't vent on DH's face.
New pillows are just too doggone thick for me.
I've tried memory foam, styro beads, real buckwheat shells (too crunchy!)--
I just keep going back to my ratty old polyester pillow--it's flat and doesn't hurt my neck.
Had the 'right' mask until my weight went down--now I'm looking again.

I love the Swift FX. Have used since just about the time it came out (09ish? I can't remember exactly). I've only had to replace the cushion once, and I get a great seal. I use a memory foam pillow and have always slept near the edge of the pillow, so that works well for the mask. I've thought about taking the plunge on the Mirage FX, but not sure. I get the itchiness on my nose sometimes with the FX, but that may be to my oily skin.

I use one of the sleepweaver cloth masks and I absolutely love it. If I get woken up by a leak blasting me in my eye, I just move my cheek a little and seal it against the pillow

I'm just 2 1/2 months into this OSA/CPAP thing, and looking for answers too. I have used a PR ComfortGel Nasal mask - always leaves a line on one side of my face (whichever side I finished sleeping on). The line is usually gone in 30 minutes or so, but 1 day hung around for 4-5 hours. I also use a Swift LT Nasal pillows mask, no lines on my face, but after 5-6 days in a row my nose hurts around the nares or at the bridge, so I switch to the nasal mask for a few days.

I have been using the AEIOMed Headrest nasal pillows. Exclusively a side sleeper. Sometimes the seal will break after a couple months use...but a simple rubber band in the right spot increases the tension.

I am 2 weeks into using a SleepWeaver now and I love it. Any leaks are easy to manage for me as I just adjust my pillow - my AHI was 1.1 last night. Definitely a lot more comfort than the nasal pillows - and super quiet so that now I can even pull the covers half over my head again and its almost like old times! I am still loving my Resmed S-9 as well and the switch to that machine was the key to my being able to accept and do CPAP which I obviously have needed for years. I do need it quiet when I sleep and have always been a side sleeper - this SleepWeaver is really great!

Great thread, especially for us newbies! I have been on CPA for a week, am a side sleeper, and had leaks with the Swift FX for the first three nights. Then I looked at the instructions (duh) and found I was fitting the lower strap too high on the back of my head. Adjusted and problem solved! It has been very easy so far to adapt to CPAP - I thought it would be much harder and more uncomfortable. My wife loves it - I don't snore and twitch anymore so her sleep is much better!

One more thing - I found that if I sleep in a V-necked T-shirt and thread the hose down the front it keeps the hose from pulling on the mask when I switch sides.

This is my first week with CPAP at home, so I'm glad to hear what works for all side sleepers! I start on my side (usually my right) but will spend some time on my back. Last night was the first night I kept the mask on greater than 3 hours...and I woke up with a stiff neck. I'm considering a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond for a looksie at their pillows. We have a few stiff pillows and a bunch of old squishy ones, so I'm still trying to figure out what will work well.

I am using a $15.00 Memory Foam neck pilllow, that was purchased at CVS Drug Store about 3 years ago. It has a very small side, on the side I call the front (about 2-3 inches high) and a little "valley" in the middle for my head, and is higher on the back end (about maybe 4 inches) and I can side sleep with it. I position my face at the edge of the pillow, & the Swift FX pillows in my nose are not touched by the pillow for my head. This one works for me. I have had 2 discs removed and had 2 fusions in my neck, and have severe disc degeneration (osteoarthritis) in my neck and spine, so I really have to be careful about pillow choice. I hope you find one that works well for you.

tried to post a new message but don't know the NAME they want it sent too.
I'm a side sleeper and just moved here to CA and after 3 masks in 1 1/2 weeks and not fitting just so upset and sleep deprived.
air blows out the side to the nose/mouth mask. am a mouth breather now and pressure went from 10 to 16 and have a new machine too
just posing here b/c i'm praying someone might help me figure out the site and help with my mask.
know I have to call the dr.
Also are there email alerts if someone posts on this thread?

Am a side sleeper, started out on a quattro FX, but after 3 months switched to a F&P 432 which chewed up the bridge of my nose but now use a mirage liberty with good success.

I've have 5 in 3 months and going crazy with a new supplier after we moved to CA
