I can believe I waited so long. Cpap therapy is pretty good so far. I have much more energy.
I have a Remstar auto/ System One
How can I get my data analyzed? I am not understanding what the machine is telling me. Therapy hours means how many hours I slept or how many hours the machine had to work to prevent sleep apnea? Periodic Breathing is 1% to 2%, is that Good? 90% pressure is 9.8, is that good?
My AHI is around 4 to 6. How can I lower it. My pressure settings: Min 8, Max 20.
Is there any software available?
What about Nasal Strip?
I am using a nasal pillow mask. Best fit for me.
Thanx.
Peter

A good place to start is here: http://www.osahelp.com/. Here's another useful place: http://s7.zetaboards.com/Apnea_Board/topic/548269/1/
Read everything you can and don't be shy about asking questions, although I guarantee you everything you've asked before has already been answered somewhere here. So be sure to try the SEARCH feature. It works very well on this forum.
And please fill out your profile under the User Control Panel just below the SEARCH box so everyone will know what equipment you are using. That's important because I can't help you with that machine, but someone else, seeing what you're using will be able to.

Re: Data analysis?
Means how many hours the machine was on and you were breathing into mask. Not related to how hard the machine works.Peter62 wrote:Therapy hours means how many hours I slept or how many hours the machine had to work to prevent sleep apnea?
Will correlate roughly with how many hours you have slept. If the machine happened to be a used machine there may be a marked difference in total blower hours and therapy hours since therapy hours can be reset.
Periodic breathing is a special breathing pattern that can indicate other issues. We can all have this pattern on rare occasion. Lower % is better and 1 to 2 % is acceptable. Sometimes this pattern shows up with events on the reports, again we just watch it to see how much of it is occurring.Peter62 wrote:Periodic Breathing is 1% to 2%, is that Good?
Full definitions are available in software glossary and the clinician manual for your machine.
90% pressure number simply means that for 90 % of the time you were at that 9.8 cm pressure OR below it. This number will vary often. Especially for newbies.Peter62 wrote:90% pressure is 9.8, is that good?

Again full definition available in software glossary and clinician manual.
Your AHI is a bit elevated as generally we strive for below 5 total but without seeing leaks and/or the actual break down of events, I wouldn't do a thing right now to try to change it. In the software the AHI is broken down to each kind of event and leak line shows if a large leak may have allowed some events to sneak in.
I have sent you a Private message with examples of software report and choices for software use so please check your private message box.
Let's get you the software or use Onkor online analyzer and get you so that you understand what you are seeing before you consider messing with the settings. Then you can consider your options and understand what each might do.
