Not getting results on Encore when in cpap mode

Post by nanwilson » Sun May 08, 2011 8:11 am

Morning
I have been using my card reader the past month on auto mode, switched it to cpap mode last night and there are no results today. Does it only read the results on auto or am I doing something wrong. I am going away on Tuesday and need to use my old F&P which is only in cpap mode at 11, so thought I would switch my auto to cpap to get used to it again.
Besides camping season is here and I will be using the F&P frequently. I tried my auto in cpap mode a few weeks ago too and didn't get any results either. I know I must be doing something wrong when I switch things over. If I remember correctly, Linc, you do the switch-over every so often too. Any ideas?
Cheers
Nan

Nan,

If that is happening to you on the Auto M Series, I'm not surprised and it probably doesn't have anything to do with the mode. The MSeries Auto had a glitch in the information reporting. Every couple of weeks it would not record a day or two. No pattern or schedule, it just would take a two day break every once in awhile. This was widely reported a coulple of years ago, but you don't hear much about it anymore.

If you miss information for more than two days, it might be something else, but I wouldn't know what.

Thanks
It hasn't missed any info other days when I am on auto, just in straight cpap mode. Tried it a couple of weeks ago for one night and again last night - nada, no info. I'll try it again when I get back, if that doesn't work I'll just leave the m series in auto so that I can keep track.
Cheers

An inelegant, but potentially decent work around for the problem is to create a new "user" in Encore Viewer and download the CPAP data into the new user and the APAP data into the old one.

Hi Nan, This is probably a glitch in the M Series. It stops recording for a night every 7 days or so. I use this program to format the card every Sun AM. http://www.mycpap.org/. For the first time in many months, last night it didn't record any data. I presume it's because Mike slept over 10hrs almost every night this week and it "ran out of room" in 6 days instead?. It doesn't matter what mode the machine is in.

Yes, I do...and I'm a little overdue! lol Thanks for the reminder.

Auto gives MORE data, of course, but there is always data in either mode, even tho the reports look different. I'm using Encore Pro, not "Viewer". That shouldn't make a difference, but I suppose it might. I've also never experienced the two-day gaps, but I've heard about them.

Encore is screwy. I tried to pull in the data from my backup CPAP machine and combine it with my main machine's data. The program was never quite the same after that. I created a "new" patient and pulled the data from my main machine into that patient record and all seems well.

Try setting it on APAP with min=max. It will give you APAP reporting with CPAP function.
