I've been using Citrus wipes to clean my mask daily and do a thorough wash with Johnson's Baby Shampoo once a week. This has been working wonderfully and as per all the good feedback I've read on this site, I have no intentions of changing these habits.
I mentioned that I use the wipes to me DME and was told that they ruin the masks and should absolutely not be used? Why are they so apposed to the use of these wipes?
Why do DMEs dislike Citrus Wipes?

I would not agree that all DME's do not like the Citrus wipes. Mine gave them to me and told me to use them all the time. Not to use anything else.
They as supposed to be specially fornulated to NOT be damaging to the mask. Off the shelf wipes from your local super market are not safe with your mask as they have cleaning agents in them that will damage the silicone seal.

Don't put ALL DME's in that category. Mine recommended the wipes and I have been using them for well over a year.

Perhaps than my DME thought I meant Citrus Wipes in general. Thanks for the feedback. No harm intended by my comment.

Did the DME recommend something else to clean the mask? In particular, something he sells?
Find out how often your insurance will pay for a new mask and/or new cushions. Get a new mask and/or cushions and keep the old mask and/or cushions. Then experiment with the old mask and/or cushions. Or put the new ones in the drawer and "abuse" your old ones with whatever cleaning methods you want to experiment with. It's always a good idea to have spares anyway, in case you break or damage your equipment.
