Question about Mirage™ SoftGel Nasal CPAP Mask

Post by jettblack » Sat May 07, 2011 11:03 am

Hi,

I am a new user (>2 months) and have been struggling to keep my mask on during the night.
I wake up every morning and it is on the floor. I apparently leave it on for about 3 hours then rip it off. The one or two times I have left it on I have felt great in the morning.
I am using a Mirage Micro mask and I think I am finding it uncomfortable while I sleep and therefore remove it.
I have read the comments here and want to try the Mirage™ SoftGel Nasal CPAP Mask. Does anyone know if I need to purchase the entire mask to use this or can I buy just the nasal cushion and use my existing mask?

Jetblack,

The Resemed Mirage Soft Gel Nasal Cushion does not fit the frame of the Resmed Mirage Micro frame. It does, however, fit the Resmed Mirage Activa and the Resmed Mirage Activa LT frames.

Hope this helps.

jettblack,
I bought a Softgel cushion and put it on my Activa frame. I also have a Mirage Micro and find the Softgel more comfortable. It's a little more bulky than the Micro and the cushion almost touches your upper lip but I use it for my mask of choice at the moment. Hope this helps.

So, the softgel cushion is a little longer than the micro cushion of the same size?
Drat! the small Micro is too large for me.
Guess I'm stuck--again.

I love my Mirage SoftGel Nasal mask! When I can't use the Swift FX for Her pillows, I use the Mirage.
Due to allergies at the moment, I'm using the Mirage currently.

Chunkyfrog,

You should also know that the Micro cushion attaches to the frame in a "tongue and groove" fashion while the Activa/Activa LT/Soft Gel cushions use the blue plastic triangle to attach to the frame. The problem is more than the size of the cushion.
