Mine came set on 5 and I about drowned. I have settled on 1 for now. I am at sea level near the Puget Sound so humidity is pretty high.

I have been using mine in passover mode, off or 0.5.. I disconnected it last night and didn't notice a difference. I am hoping to be able to do without it.

I always seem to need to keep mine on almost the highest setting. Makes me wonder if there's something wrong with it.
If I were you, I'd put it on high and slowly go down on it until you don't have any rainout.

I run mine at 2.5. Wish I could go higher, but it's humid here and I get rainout. My nose and sinuses could use some extra moisture. Need to get some saline nose spray.

I leave mine set on 5 year round. Works out perfectly for me.

Hi,

There is also the influence of altitude. Dry air and high altitude will use more water then Sea level and 90% southern (cut it with a knife) relative humidity.

Cheers
