Used Value of ResMed S8 AutoSet II & S9 AutoSet

Post by scrapper » Fri Feb 04, 2011 5:29 pm

I have two machines that I'm trying to establish the used value for....before the ResMed lockout on cpapauction.com and other places, did anyone buy a similar used machine?

If so, what did you pay?

The ResMed S8 AutoSet II APAP with advanced data has approximately 1500 hours on it--3-4 months of continual usage plus back up usage........

The ResMed S9 AutoSet APAP with advanced data plus climateline hose has approximately 2600 hours on it--about 1 year of continual usage..........

In Feb 2010, I purchased from a forum member. I paid $375 for the S8 AutoSet II (157 hours usage) H4i Humidifier (still in plastic wrap), new data card, new hose, and carry bag. It also included the ResMed S8 DC Adaptor (new $75). She paid for shipping, and I paid the paypal fees of $11.

Sometime in March 2010, paid $450 for brand new S8 autoset II, with all the trimmings, boxed with carry bag via craigslist. This is my personal backup unit.

Sometime in summer, paid about $400+ from cpaptalk.com member, slightly used new S8 autoset II, with all the trimmings, boxed with carry bag. This was for colleague at work. Around late fall, I bought a third S8 via secondwindcpap.com [thanks to KatieW recommendation], new out of box for $475 plus $60 shipping to HK - with all the trimmings. This was backup unit for same colleague.

First two transactions were before ResMed's ban on cpapauction.com, and before their ban on other on-line stores for 'discounts'.

If you go to secondwindcpap.com, check out their prices for your model -- that would be a good benchmark of what is the current street price.

Looking for backup ResMed - S8 AutoSet™ II. If you have one, let me know and how much?

I recently purchased an S8 Autoset II with carrying bag with around 75 hours on it for $200.00, another $50.00 for the humidifier -- which I declined as I didn't need it. The machine was in excellent condition and is now my main machine.

I was offered a bilevel VPAP 25 for $450 which included everything bag, hose, humidifier, mask, etc. I ended up waiting too long and didn't get it.
