Does anyone know if they work and what you would recommend?

I have been using the Contour pillow for almost a year. I find it's great as the mask doesn't touch the pillow.

Hi - I just started CPAP on Feb 14, and it didn't take me long to realize that I needed a different pillow if I was going to sleep comfortably. So, I invested in a Papillow. Not cheap, but it really made a difference in my sleeping, since I sleep on my side, leaning toward stomach. I'm doing much better now!

I bought a Homedics sleep pillow. Economical and probably in a local pharmacy. Good Luck

I'm using a cheapish memory foam pillow that I find ideal as it has square sides that easily allows my extended nose to poke over the sides while I'm front sleeping.
I tried an expensive husk pillow that while being very conformable was too hard and noisy.

I, too, use the PAPillow:

http://www.papillow.com/

I bought the double edge for home and can't imagine sleeping with CPAP without it. It allows me to sleep comfortably and easily on either side AND on my stomach without the mask touching anything. (I'm not a back sleeper, but I always lay on my back when I do the initial check/adjustments for leaks). It's a great all around pillow too. There is a cut out for the neck so there is built in neck support, a must for everyone (IMO).

I love it so much I'm going to buy the smaller version for an upcoming trip. I hate the thought of trying to sleep with my new love (CPAP - because I am sleeping for the first time in ages) without a comfy perfect pillow to go with it. Don't tell my husband, but he's become first runner up.

It's a very personal choice whether you need a special pillow, and whether you sleep on you back, side, stomach or all three (or some other position?).

I have a Regenesis buckwheat hull pillow (after trying a few others), which is wonderful because I can make it as full/firm as I want and if I need additional height can use another pillow underneath it and my mask doesn't get shoved all over my face.

Cheers,
xena
