S9 Auto set with a AHI 0.0 reading.

Post by Bobby269 » Sun Apr 17, 2011 4:46 pm

For most of the last two weeks my AHI'S were below 1.0. It started with 0.1,0.1,0.1, 0.3, 0.8, o.1.0.1, and an 0.1. Saturday night
the machine showed a AHI of 0.0.The report from the ResScan software showed no AHI"S. No snore index. Also no events. From what I have read on this Forum the procedure to use is to power the unit down and then power it up again. This procedure was performed.
This morning I had an AHI of 0.0 and the report showed the same missing data. I have again powered the unit down and turned it back on.
The two nights with AHI of 0.0 and the rest of the two weeks were the best sleep i have had in years. Most of the nights I had no obstructive and no central apneas. Just a blue apnea on the report. Most nights I would have obstructive and centrals when I first go
to sleep and after waking and going back to sleep. The way that my body feels I don't feel like there is problem and this is a correct reading. But I doubt it.
Can this be a correct reading? If not any suggestions on how to fix it.
While I have your attention I am using the new Resmed software 3.14 and it has new graph titled EPAP. What does that stand for?
Thank you in advance for your always great help.

Expiratory PAP.

That little blue thing symbolizes a hypopnea.

Yes, a 0.0 is possible. I have had them, so have others. I would leave everything the way it is.

With all your previous AHI numbers being so close to 0 and now actual zero and rebooting the machine still gives zero and your reporting feeling the good numbers, I wouldn't worry and I would trust the machine.

If you had gone from AHI numbers in the 2.0 and higher immediately to zero.... then I might wonder a bit.
Sounds to me like you have acclimated to things very well, have your therapy well optimized. Just sit back and reap the rewards.

EPAP only applies to bilevel machines (Reamed VPAP). It is certainly possible to get 0 AHI... I do once or twice every few weeks. I'd only be concerned about the data if it continues more than a week... that happened to me once and unplugging put everything back to normal.

That sounds great. I've had 0.0's but never consecutively. Enjoy it.
If it really bothers you, drop you pressure half a cm for a night! But that might jinks it.
