Help with my resmed s9 elite with humidifier & heated tube.

Post by wildhog » Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:13 am

Hi, I have just purchased the elite model with humidifier. I previously used the s9 auto pap that I was renting. I found the first couple of nights the humidifier wasn't heating up (I also use the heated tube). With the previous rental ( auto pap) I set the heat to 6 and I would just start using it and it would start to heat immediately . With this new model i find that I have to hold the scroll button down for 3 secs and let it go through a warm up stage. If I don't go through the warm up, the humidifier will not heat up. Is this normal or is ther a way that I can set it up to automatically start heating at my set temp, when I start using the machine. Many thanks Nick.

It should heat up automatically.

Time to exchange the unit. It's broken. I would ask for the autoset back. You know that one works.

EDIT: Wait a second... Do you have it set for automatic on the Elite. Did you have it set for manual on the Autoset?

Thanks Dreamdiver but I can't work out on how to get into the settings for manual/auto

Hold down the knob and the lower button for three seconds, that will put you in the clinician's menu. From there you can set climate control to "patient". Once you do that, you'll be able to change from auto to manual in the patient settings (lower button).

It does take a while for the water in the humidifier to heat up. Are you sure that it's not heating, or could it be that it's just not heating up very fast?
