Co. to Advertise on Neb. Man's Forehead

Associated Press

OMAHA, Neb. - A Web-page designer who auctioned off the use of his forehead for advertising space is cashing in. Andrew Fischer, who put his forehead advertising space for sale on e-Bay, received $37,375 to advertise the snoring remedy, SnoreStop.

Fischer will display the SnoreStop logo on his forehead for one month.

"I look forward to an enjoyable association with Andrew - a man who clearly has a head for business in every sense of the word," SnoreStop CEO Christian de Rivel said.

Gootta read this....
How SnoreStop Works
SnoreStop has a dual therapeutic action. It shrinks swollen soft tissues in the throat where 90% of non-apnea snoring symptoms occur, and it dries built-up mucous in the sinus passages. SnoreStop's mode of action is decongestive, anti-inflammatory, anti-histaminic and mucolytic. Most other formulas just use various oils blended into water for a lubricating action.

What causes snoring?

Snoring is both a sleep and breathing disorder. The snoring noise is produced by a vibration of the tissues in the throat and is a clear signal that the breathing passage is obstructed by a narrowing of the airways and that the normal sleep pattern is disturbed.

Dr. Derek Lipman's book, "Snoring from A to ZZZZ. Proven Cures" provides many other explanations for snoring:

Abnormal throat anatomy such as an elongated or thick uvula, enlarged tongue or tonsils and/or lowering of the soft palate.
Abnormal nasal anatomy such as deviated nasal septum and nasal polyps.
Reduced muscle tone in the tissues of the throat produced by aging, an underactive thyroid, the use of alcoholic "night caps," tranquilizers or sleeping pills.
Fatigue, overeating or overwork can also exaggerate the conditions leading to snoring, by resulting in over-relaxation of airway muscles and tissues.
Nasal obstruction brought on by seasonal or perennial allergies, the common cold, and occupational or chronic rhinitis.
Smoking, though not a direct cause of snoring, contributes to it by producing excess mucus, thus causing the membranes in the throat to swell and restrict the air passages.
Obesity causes or aggravates snoring as collections of fat may compress and narrow the throat.
According to Dr. Smolley, co-author of "The Snoring Cure" serious cases of unchecked and untreated snoring can also lead to "morning headaches, restless legs during sleep, mood swings, choking sensations, impotence, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, and even death".

Now I don't need any "what were you thinking" comments on this. I actully have tried snorestop, and guess what it did not work. I was trying to find something that would help my wife get some sleep and it was faily inexpensive. I know better now that it was a waste of time and money. And now after reading what was on their website I hope more people look further on the net to find what may be going on with snoring problem than thinking this may be a fix.
