S9 software

Post by Paul S » Mon Apr 11, 2011 1:15 pm

Hi all, I'm new here, just acquired a new Resmed S9 Elite today. I've seen so many postings regarding reading your own data; could someone please steer me to where I can acquire the software for my machine, and how to interpret what I'm reading. Only the user's manual came with it, and it didn't tell me much. At this time I have neither the need nor intent to change any settings (such as pressure) but I understand that can also be done by the user; am I correct?

Thanks,
Paul S

Here is a link to a free download of the software from ResMed's site: http://www.resmed.com/int/assets/html/s ... c=patients

Yes, you can change the pressure and many of us have improved our therapy by doing so. You need some data and some education from the forum to do it right. See here for examples of success stories: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60874&p=570977

http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/

Tutorial on how to use the software above.

Already sent you a PM with link to Uncle Bob's downloads. Yes, with the use of the clinician manual you can see and do things that may be blocked now. Depends on how your DME set up the machine.
Doesn't hurt to look though, to become familiar with what is in there.

I am also new and came across this thread, which Im glad i did. I have downloaded the software and watched the video. But is there a website or manual that breaks down the readings on the SD card so i can understand what each thing means. im new and learing and want to monitor how this is working but i dont understand what everything, codes readings etc.. mean. Any ideas??

If you are moving the SD card between your S9 and a card reader attached to your computer, do not install any of the ResScan drivers. You don't need them.

Unfortunately, I don't think your machine generates the data that the software needs to provide reports.

I just noticed that too.

Paul S your provider has given you the most basic machine they could for the billing code they use. You need to go back and ask for a data capable machine, even better still an Autoset APAP machine (they can run in CPAP mode as well as automatic). They are billed under the same billing code as the basic Elite model, your provider is just trying to make more money from you. Thats assuming you are using insrance/DMEs etc.

Paul has the Elite which is a fully data-capable machine.

markaas has the Escape which records only compliance data.

markaas, See this thread for Rested Gal's list of machines: viewtopic.php?p=307168#p307168

In the thread Mark started, he said he had an Escape, but he also said he saw "Autoset" settings on it. So who knows. Maybe if he registers, we will be able to help him.

I hope his profile is wrong and he actually has an AutoSet.

Pulling for some good luck for you Mark.
