Stomach Pains

Post by markbav » Mon Apr 11, 2011 4:01 am

After 10 weeks on apap i have been getting some really good results, however the last two mornings i have woken up with stomach pains as if i have been doing stomach crunches whilst asleep ( havn't adjusted any settings for about 7 days) can this be caused by apap ?

First, welcome to cpaptalk.

Is it set to emulate straight CPAP, or is it in Auto mode? What are your current settings?

Does burping help alleviate the pain?

You might want to get checked out for Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and/or Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease (LPRD or sometimes LRD). We don't always get told that these things can often accompany sleep apnea. Consider talking to a Gastroenterologist. It's also a diagnosis that makes it nearly impossible to get insurance outside of a group policy or after your current policy runs out. I found this out from my own experience.

Yeah, I know it's a creepy ad site, but the information is pretty reasonable at this link.
