Resmed S9 Autoset to Europe

Hi there,

I am new in the forum. I am on CPAP since six years. I have been using th Hofrichter Autotrend and the Respironics Remstar Auto (for a while also the GoodKnight 420 but it was too loud)


One of the most importan criteria for me is noise, especially the noise carried through the hose in the mask. Since I sleep with earplugs I do not care about the noise on the outside of the machine, which is actually the noise level reported by the manufcturers.

Under this aspect Respironics shows a pretty bad performance (besides my own I have tested also the M Series)

Generally, smaller machines show such a problem, because in a small casing it is not easy to reduce the noise carried by the air stream from the turbine (if you look in the labyrinth inside the casing of a Hofrichter machine you will understand what I mean)

On the other hand my Hofrichter Autotrend has an obviously not very efficient algorithm, no exhale relief and no access to therapy data (I would have to bring it everytime to my therapist in order to get a printed summary over a period without any details).

I am therefore considerng buying a new machine, which I will pay out of my pocket.

From what I have read here and in other forums the Resmed S9 Autoset sounds to be the Rolls-Royce of APAPs (also in terms of price) and according to users' reports a very quiet one.

The problem is that I live in Greece.

Is there any supplier delivering Resmed products form the US to Europe (besides secondwindcpap)?

The machine would cost a fortune in Europe (at least double as in the US)

Does anyone have a tip?
