My Sleep doc is tickled with me
My Sleep doc is tickled with me
He LOVES the fact that I come here and try to educate myself, and that I have the software to look at our data with. He actually wants me to see if I can find a pattern of when I have been taking off my mask the past two weeks, so we can figure out possibly why I am doing it. Also scheduled for a chest xray and breathing tests to see why I have tightness and get winded at times, but have no wheezing.

Re: My Sleep doc is tickled with me
I took my mask off for the first time last night...woke up at 4 am for a run (I work EMS) and found my mask off. Looking at my events, my mask came off about 230am. Thats three nights in a row at the same time, sort of, the first two nights the plastic elbow came off of the mask, and the third night the mask was actually off, but all three happened at 230 am...interesting...

Sounds like you have a good doc. Good for you. I've been taking my mask off for the last week or so. I think it's sinus congestion from spring tree pollen. I was doing great before the blooms started. But I love Spring.jmcsmomma wrote:He LOVES the fact that I come here and try to educate myself, and that I have the software to look at our data with. why did your doctor not educate you in the first place?jmcsmomma wrote:He LOVES the fact that I come here and try to educate myself.
if you are paying for health care insurance and end up having to educate and treat yourself you need a refund on your insurance.

What a good, good doctor you have, jmcs!jmcsmomma wrote:He LOVES the fact that I come here and try to educate myself, and that I have the software to look at our data with.
Since he likes the way you're learning to be proactive in your own therapy, perhaps he'll suggest this site to his other CPAP patients.
Good doctor, jmcs. And good job you're doing!

Re: My Sleep doc is tickled with me
My doctor can only answer the questions that I ask him, and being brandnew to all of this, I had no idea what to ask. He explained lots of things, but then I found other questions that I could get answers for here, thereby freeing him up to spend more time with someone else not as fortunate as I was to have found all of you.Uncle_Bob wrote:why did your doctor not educate you in the first place?jmcsmomma wrote:He LOVES the fact that I come here and try to educate myself.

Re: My Sleep doc is tickled with me
For me, years ago, I took off the mask in the middle of the night because I could not get enough air.
Some dream or change and I needed to breath. The machine could not supply enough so I would take the mask off to breath. Once, I woke my wife when I removed the mask and she woke me up. I was still breathing heavy and realized I felt as if suffocated.
I have an auto and solved the problem by raising the upper pressure limit.

jmcsmomma2, when I first read the title of this thread, I thought it said "My Sleep doc tickled me"! Maybe I need new eyeglasses!
It sounds like your doctor's definitely a keeper!
