S9 Autoset vs F&P Icon/Obtaining Software

Hi - I am going to get a new APAP and am trying to decide between S9 Autoset and F&P Icon. Does anyone know any "cons" to either one - the "pros" seem pretty obvious.

Also, I read a lot of the forum and cannot find the places where it says where to obtain the software and the clinician's manual. I am used to how to set my current S8, but my new DME says they will absolutely not reveal how to change my settings and they are over an hour and a half away from my home.

I appreciate any advice/information that anyone could share. I have been on therapy for 5 years - doing better than at the beginning, but my AHIs are still about 13-14 and my AIs are about 3-5. I hope to improve them. I use a Breeze nasal pillows which is the only mask I can tolerate after trying 15 different ones/types. I do have restless legs very bad but do not want to take the dangerous meds they want me to take.

I'd love to hear more about both also. My Sleep center carries both and gives you whatever machine your heart desires. Just need to really do my homework before time for new machine in a year. Would love to see the input on this thread!!

Cons:
1.) Will take a doctor intervening in order to get you the software for the F&P Icon (if you can get it then).
2.) No exhale relief on the Icon, at least not the same kind as you'd get with the S9. Supposedly gives relief when you've woken up.

Pro:
1.) the S9 has a software source currently.
2.) the S9 has exhale relief
3.) Details reported on the software are better with the S9.

You can DL the software for the S9 directly from Resmed.
