I found the leak.....now what?

Post by jmcsmomma » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:38 pm

Husband's leak seems to be from the mask itself, where the seal meets the plastic ALL around. Do I lube it like an o-ring to form a barrier? He is sound asleep, the leak is sient but I put my hand up, and then I can REALLY feel that air.

Wow - good for you for finding it. I have no idea how to fix it. Hope you figure it out!

The mask cushion might not be properly seated on the the mask frame. If carefully re-seating those two parts does not fix the leak problem, then perhaps you're equipment provider mated an incompatible cushion with your frame:
432 silicone cushion and foam cushion insert will not fit the 431 frame.
431 silicone cushions made after April 2006 will fit the 432 frame.
431 silicone cushions made before April 2006 will not fit the 432 frame.

Is it possible this is just the air from the exhaust vent? I suppose you could dip the thing in some soapy water, put it on and see if there are bubbles.

I could't do anything while he was asleep. He had gently requested that if he leaked or snored to leave him the alone, and let him sleep.
So, after the man got up today, I checked his seal, and it was not seated all the way in.So I fixed it, and we'll go again tonight, lol.
LOL LOL, I love him so, but he tickles me.

Momma, you have my full admiration! I know how hard it is for me as a non-cpapper to oversee my husband's therapy. Blessings to both of you! I love the photo of that baby!
