daniell77 wrote:I wish u luck eric. It can be very frustrating. U posted trying to receive help. U did not receive what u needed. There is nothing wrong with that. For those who r criticizing u for this or re-posting are obviously taking it personally. Somebody wrote "i foe'd him long time ago." Why bother responding negatively to anyone. I see this as a overwhelming frustration for you and your health, and not a direct attack on anyone. I wish u luck!!. And if u change your mind to post, that's fine too. This forum is supposed to help people, not take the rejection of help personally. Everyone has a right to accept or not agree with the feedback! Best wishes!
Well said, daniell.

To those of you who have take the time attack the OP:

This forum is meant for all people in need of cpap help. All people. That means some of them may be "bonkers" -- all the time, or part of the time. They have as much a right to post as those who have never had psychiatric problems. They are in as much need of it as others - perhaps more. Some of you have proven yourselves capable of being very smooth, elegant and humorous in the way you ask for help - or respond. Others clearly have to chew rocks and spit blood before they get their message across. That does not give the more eloquent among us a right to reject them of make fun of them. As Daniell pointed out - some people will leave those of us who want to help with an overwhelming sense of frustration. So what? Instead of repeatedly attacking those who frustrated you turn your attention to someone you can help.

The worst thing trolls do to forums is make people trigger happy in rejecting newcomers - don't let that major troll from a few months ago destroy our ability to help people in need. Attacking a newcomer for daring to post his or her thoughts just because you think they are another troll will do far more harm to the forum - and to those who are wondering if they should join - than the harm caused by mistaking a troll for a bona fide new member. Everyone eventually shows their true colors.

Welcome, Daniell. Good luck Eric - I hope you find the help you need.

Never was a truer sentence said.

There are those of us who tend to be suspicious, and whose reaction is to distrust and disparage. I am one of those.

Then there are those more charitable than I, who have patience I could never dream of. And those people respond in a helpful way, and the genuine person gets help, and the troll tests their patience.

I now leave such posts to those with the charitable resources that I do not have, and so do not muddy the situation by casting suspicion when I may be wrong.

I have been wrong in the past, and I regret this.

However, by leaving such threads alone, I no longer screw things up

cheers

Mars

PS I just realised I disparaged Eric in my thread "Sleep Disorder Can Mimic Dementia - Sleep Apnea News", so I just edited it to better reflect how I should have responded, if at all, in the first place

Ask for help?

Fine.

("IMHO", of course) way too far over the line.

The "DME girl" is a person, too, and deserves respect.

Further, without knowing the full details, she very well could have been COMPLETELY correct. Although most insurers' CPAP (E0601) replacement criteria is 5 years, there are plenty that are 3 years (like Oxford and United up here)(I think he's on NC Aetna, and they ain't renown for being particularly generous. We'd need his policy details and probably a call to CS).

If he wants help, fine.

If he wants to be a bully, then "pick on somebody your own size".

No she does not. She works for the DME and the DME is the enemy. She deserves to be treated like the enemy. I view all but one DME Ive used as basically, enemies. Their whole setup where they are trying to give you the cheapest gear they can legally get away with is a built in conflict of interest with regards to my health problems. I take that as a threat to my life. They threaten my breathing, screw'em.

Get some help. If not from a sleep doc, then a psychiatrist.
Ive been on many medical message boards in my time, not many in the past couple years because until recently I got away from that. Was doing better. Now I remember why I stopped. A lot of online communities like this are full of jerks. LIke yourself. Why dont you go see a psychiatrist? You certainly exhibit a lot of anger. Sure your OSA is under control?

The problem I am seeing Eric,

Is you seem to be trolling for attention, Most of your posts seem very pointed. In these posts you just seem to twist anyone fooslish enough to respond to your posts. You may not be ResmedUser, but you sure act the same way they did. Even up to the whole "Bye, I don't like you guys, I am leaving" post. And then you never really leave, you just keping coming back.. So while as someone said, you might be a whole new user looking for help. I suspect you are just a phantom from the past.

OK.. So now that you remember why you stopped coming to message boards, does that mean you are going to follow through with your threat, which this topic gets it's name from?

Just wondering, I do wish you the best if you do stay or go, I just kinda would like to stop seeing trolling posts from you. I think they just clutter up the board and chase away people.

Its no wonder you have treatment issues -- you take what should be a partner in your treatment and consider them an enemy and treat them that way. Do you consider your docs as the enemy as well?
