Will someone advise me how to avoid this error message? I am selecting All Results when I search for particular subject matter and have tried various combinations of the other options. I imagine it is something I am doing wrong.
Put another way, how can I filter the search for topics older than one year, for example?
Thanks

can you give an example of a topic that you are trying so I can see if I can either duplicate the problem or spot something to do to change?

Re: No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame
I do not see a choice for "older than one year".
The date of post can be changed to older post showing first instead of most recent appearing first.
What search parameters are you using to get the error message? All parameters that you used.

Re: No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame
When you get that error, scroll down to the bottom of the page, it should have a "Display posts from previous:" selection there. Change it to "All time". It's probably that you have the setting for, say 1 month, and all the posts your search is finding are outside of that time range. So if you increase the time, or set it to all time, it should show the posts for you. You may have to refresh the page once you make the change for anything to show up though.
Re: No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame
Ooops, I just tried that, and the "show posts from previous" selection doesn't show up when there's no posts.
You'll have to go to your control panel (at the top of the page, look for "User Control Panel"). Then go to the "board preferences" tab. Finally select "Edit Display Options" from the left side, and change the "Display posts from previous days:" setting to something longer.
Then hit submit and try your search again.

I changed the settings and the problem seems to be resolved.
Thank Yew very much.
