My first data download

Post by VulcanD3 » Sat Mar 19, 2011 3:15 pm

Ok, first time try at posting results... and I have no clue how to post the graphs from resscan. I created a report and it opened it in a pdf file 3 pages. I selected an image and saved it but I don't know where resScan saved it to or how to insert it into my post. What would it have named it?

The key problem you have: no image cut-and-paste into your forum post (like in email), rather embed a hyperlink in this text to an image file you saved in your own web site.
Once you have that solved:
1. brute force way in ResScan: use the OS to save the screen contents in some HTML-compatible compressed format, like JPG, GIF, PNG (no BMP); then you can crop it in some photo editor
2. if your specific question refers to having opened the PDF file, say in Adobe Acrobat or Reader: you click on the image to highlight it, then you can Save As anywhere you wish in selected formats.

If you search the forum for ResScan, you'll see several illustrations; some members further annotate their images before posting.
I hope this helps.
Moderate-severe OSA, ResMed S9 AutoSet EPR + H5i Humidifier, ResMed Masks: trying Swift FX Nasal Pillow, Mirage Nasal, Mirage Quatro or Quattro FX Full Face
ResMed SD card & USB adaptor, ResScan 3.10

Below is how I insert images of reports.

How to insert image/report

Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 has the snipping tool.
Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

Well, not quite what I was hoping for, hope it's good enough. How does it look? Good treatment results?

I saw it. I was able to enlarge it for full size.
Summary data.. Most obvious item is the leak or leaks... big leaks.
A daily detail for one night will show it in more detail.
Using Swift FX? Mouth breathing? That would be my first suspect. Many of them are big enough to maybe impair therapy and data. Again full view of a single night would offer more insight.

Have you figured out how to get the detailed daily reports in the software?

Right now I can't figure out how to show one day but with a little time, I'll figure it out.

Thanks!

I don't use your machine so don't know exactly how to get daily reports but I do know that the download will default to summary data and you have to tell it to get the detailed data special or the reports will only have summary data available.

When you Select what to download, be sure and check the little box that says something about detailed sessions.
Then the daily graphs will come up on the Detailled tab to the right of Summary Graphs.

Is this what you wanted to see Pugsy? That's 8 hours last night.

What happened the first half of the night. Leak is alllllllllllll over the place. What is that vertical red line? When you decided not to leak?

From about 4:30 till wake up, great data, minimal leak and very acceptable.

That first half of the night you were awful. Not much events showing but with that large of a leak for that amount of time the computer just probably threw up hits little computer hand chips and said "no way, no how, I quit" You were way over the 24 l/min that ResMed says not to trust data or therapy. Can you tell what you did differently between early part and later part?

In the Detail portion of Resscan graphs, there is a vertical red line in the center of the window. Really not sure what its intended purpose is other than to help center a particular portion of the graph in the window.

I have no clue what happened the first half of the night. The red line I think is just a marker for the center of the graph. I didn't put it there that I know of. What about the flags in the event graph? Are they anything to be concerned about? around 6-7 am. Two centrals and one obstructive event. What are centrals? I will try making some kind of a chin strap to keep my mouth shut and see if that fixes the leakage problem. Sometimes I wake up with a very dry mouth.

Thanks Liz, I will make sure that box is checked next time I download.

Dry mouth usually a good clue for mouth breathing especially since we see that huge leak half the night. Need to decide what to try to limit the air from escaping out the mouth. Tape, chin strap, papcap or full face mask. Gotta get those leeks under control and well under that horizontal red line. First and foremost work on the leak, then look at the events scored again.

Centrals are clear way apneas. Some of just maybe turning over in bed and adjusting the cover and it can also be the brain forgetting to tell the body to breath.. Obstructive apnea is when some tissue blocks the airway. Centrals are when no air is moving but the airway is clear. An occasional one can usually be explained away easily enough and not mean much. Lots of centrals might indicate some other problem but your couple of centrals could be just a normal variance. Get that leak line in order and lets see what might show on the first half of the night, the we can see if there are more centrals. 2 a night, not a big deal at this point.
