Just finished night 5 with my CPAP. I currently have the ComfortJel mask and don't care for it at all. I ordered a ComfortCurve (not arrived yet) but have since discovered this forum and have read more negative than positive reviews on this interface. I realize there will be some "buy & try" required to find the right interface(s) for me. I've read good things about the Nasal Aire and Swift. However, having something inserted in my nose doesn't sound comfortable either.
I'm a closed mouth, back sleeper, and occasionally like to roll on my side. (Never thought I would actually write something like that! )
Any recommendations would be appreciated before I throw too much money at this...I would like to avoid having a drawer full of these things.
Thanks.

Just wanted to say Hi and welcome you to the board. You are right, this topic has been discussed a LOT so I assume you have done research on past posts and probably know as much as I do on the subject now. If you have specific questions, please feel free to ask though.

Hi,
I've been using the ResMed Swift Nasal Pillows for about a year. I tried a couple of other masks and had a terrible time with leaks and claustrophobia (full face mask). Before trying the pillows, I thought they would be irritating and weird. They took a little getting used to but I don't even notice them now. I sleep all night every night. Life is good.

Hi Sharon here saying hi and welcome to one of the most informative forums around.
Just to let you know the Hans Rudolph also makes a nasal mask.
I use the full face Hans Rudolph, but not all masks are for everyone, so it is a trial and error on the masks.

I am a back sleeper also and I love my Comfort Curve mask. I have used it exclusively now since mid October. It is the best mask I have used. I started with a nose mask ( Simplicity) and still have it, next I had a Nasal Aire (didn't like it at all). I won a gel one ( can't remember the name) and could not wear it at all. I also have the Infinity. I like the Infinity but the design of the area that attaches to the tubing is a problem for me. Now I have the Comfort Curve and will stick with it for quite a while I think. Being a back sleeper, I find no problems with the cheek pads and I like that it sits just under the nose, not over it or in it. Everyone is different though so it may not be as good for you. When you said you were a back sleeper, I decided to reply since it works so well for me. Good luck.

I think that what happens is that you tend to try masks for a while and slowly work out what's good for you and what's not.
I started with a nasal mask and hated it, and eventually found that the nasal insert type worked far better for me and was far less intrusive. However, the truth is that no one mask works for everyone ... so you will have to try a selection like the rest of us, and sell on the ones you don't like.
My ideal mask was found when I bought a mask someone else had bought and hated and put up for sale on this site! I got it cheaper than new and have used it non-stop every since! (The Breeze). However, if I had to buy it myself new I probably wouldn't have tried it because quite a few people don't get on with it!
Hope the comfort curve works for you ... but if not, sell it on and try something else .. swift, headrest or breeze would probably be worth trying.
