Good evening, all!
I had gastric bypass surgery this past fall and have since lost 122 pounds, and am continuing to lose weight. I have been steadily able to reduce my pressures from an all time high of IPAP 25/EPAP 13 with a PS of 4. I currently have my machine set on IPAP 25/EPAP 4 with no PS, because that is the lowest it goes. Each morning, my average pressure is ranging between 8 and 9.
When should I request another sleep study? What pressure do I need to get down to safely consider that I may not need my machine anymore? I realize that losing weight is not a guarantee that my sleep apnea will be gone, but there are many folks who do find that they are able to stop using their machines after significant loss.
What is a "safe" pressure to think about stopping at? Thanks!
when should I have another sleep study?
