Hello,
I have only been on CPAP a few days and think my numbers are decent. The only ones that I don't really understand are the leak numbers and I'm unsure if mine are acceptable or not. Can someone tell me if they are OK and/or how to interpret them?
Many thanks for this forum... it is fantastic!

Interpretation of leak numbers
Re: Interpretation of leak numbers
ResMed machines already subtract the intentional leak/vent rate before showing you the leak so what you see is excess leak.
ResMed with leaks above 10 it might impact therapy and possibly data. Over 24 L/min ResMed says that all bets are off with data and therapy likely to be impacted.
Your median is 9 which isn't bad but probably could stand a wee bit of work but you have only been at this a few days so it really isn't that bad.
The 95 % number is not so much of an average as it is a number where you have spent 95 % of the time at OR below that number.
The maximum is of course the highest leak rate. It is possible for the 95 % number to be sort of misleading because of the large leak reported. If the bulk of the night was at a minimal leak and you had an hour at a much higher number that percentile number will be inflated. Best thing to really watch leak is with the software. Do you have or want to have the software to see more clearly what the numbers mean in relation to the entire night?
Overall your numbers are really quite good and yes, the leak could stand some work but for being new at this stuff, you are really doing quite well. Leaks and masks are the hardest part of this whole thing.
