DME Providers in Massachusetts

Post by BoomersRock » Thu Mar 10, 2011 11:22 am

It appears our current DME, North Atlantic, is now out of network. Too bad. We really liked them. My husband used to have Apria and he did not like them. Anyone have any other companies they use and like in our area?

The best thing to do is to either go to your insurance plan's website or call your insurance plan and ask for a list of in network DMEs. Once you have that, ask here and then start calling around.

I'm from Mass also. North Atlantic supplies my equipment. When I had my first study back in 2008 my DME provider was a company in Norwood Mass called "Healthwise". I was happy with them although I quit my therapy because I didn't know of this site. I can give you the number if you're interested.

I have North Atlantic, and so far have been pretty happy with them: They got me a top-of-the line F&P Icon Auto APAP, let me try (and keep) a bunch of masks, and even sold me the analysis software without making a big deal out of it (which, from what I understand, is quite unusual).

Caveat: I've only been on xPAP for a month, so my experiences with them are still limited...

Glad for you......a friend's story with them was "fail", and my own dealing with them were less than desired. I hope this signals a change in staff, or policies, or training, or attitude with them!!

To be fair, my current primary contact at NA has been exceedingly helpful and honest/direct. She says, "I don't know the answer to that, let me research it/find out". This is the answer I love! Rather than the hogwash fed me by others in the company, or not being called or called back by others in the company. And to be fair, in at least the last year, I have had no interaction, and since I now own the machine, they don't reach out to me. (I still see my sleep doc every 6 months.)

So, again, glad for you, and hope this signals positive changes in policy/procedure at NA

Reminder - The original poster is looking for suppliers other than North Atlantic as they are now out of network for them. Are there any other recommendations?
