Hello everyone,
I have been away for a long while because I have had zero issues until last night. I just picked up my S9 Autoset with 5Hi humidifier and hose. Everything was preset correctly by my DMU because I checked the Clinicals prior to using it. I just turned my auto start “on” and turned down my humidity lvl to 65.
Anyhow, I kept waking up throughout the night. I have Apnea, (obviously) but I also have deprivation. Here's my question. There is a setting to ease the exhale on my machine. I forget the acronym now but It's currently set to (3). It feels so light, I am forgetting to breath back in. I will turn this setting back down to 0 or 1, and then hopefully it will be enough for me to feel it and inhale without any interruptions. I was waking up all night and I know why. I was forgetting to breath. Has anyone else had this same issue? What did you do to fix this? It’s a small issue but none the less, I’m curious.
First night with my S9 Autoset was a rough one.

Hello and welcome
the humidity knob that you turned down is Temperature, with the climateline hose this is the temp. that the hose maintains you have put this in manual mode and have the ability to adjust both temp and humidity
the other setting that you are looking at is EPR, if you have been using CPAP for a while you may just want to turn this off and maybe consider turning the ramp off so that you are getting the full pressure that you are looking for all the time.
hope this helps get you going
Chris

That's a solid observation, though it might be worth trying EPR=2 and 1 before turning it completely off. I came to the Autoset in Nov after 14 years of straight CPAP with no ramp. In my case, though I didn't have a problem with the pressure, I find having EPR on to be a pleasant change. I've been on 3 since November, but if I see any problems that reducing EPF might solved, I wouldn't hesitate in lowering it.KC5cychris wrote:...

Also, I came from an un-heated passover humidifier. After running the range of temp/humidity settings with the ClimateLine, I've reverted back to un-heated passover using the SlimLine tubing. Point is, the Autoset seems to be good machine among those currently being sold, but it takes some tweaking to get it dialed in just right.
Good luck with getting your's adjusted.

I had the same problem. Found myself waiting for the machine to breathe for me.
I turned it off for a couple of weeks, then went back to 1 and it was ok. There is a medium, fast setting that will bring the pressure back faster, but that is only in CPAP mode.
