Ideal EPR setting and EPR levels

Post by kinggrayskull » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:33 pm

Shall I set EPR at Full Time or Ramp only?

How about EPR level? Is it ok to set it at 2?

I'm a beginner here. Just bought the S9 Autoset last week.

There's no such thing as "ideal". You have to try for the seetting that gives you the best sleep quality and the best "day after" quality.

EPR is a personal choice. You just have to see what works best for you.
Go to the control panel and list your equipment in text in your signature.
What was your AHI at your sleep study?
Did you get your reports from that?
What pressure are you on?

Liz is right on, it's a matter of personal choice and what works/feels most comfortable for each individual. My DME set it at 3 and eventually I adjusted down to 1. Others feel better with higher EPR, some don't even use it.

Pls do remember that EPR does affect actual pressure delivered so that an adjustment in your cpap pressure or apap pressure is needed. For instance, if you set EPR at 3, then you need to increase pressure by 3; if EPR at 2, increase pressure by 2; if EPR at 1,increase pressure by 1. Simarily if you decrease EPR later, decrease pressure accordingly.
