remstar time

Post by scottb908 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:40 pm

Since you been so helpful up to this point let me throw this one out there... It appears that the time is off when I look at my report on Encore. However I havent found any way to set the time yet.... I checked the clinical menu and dont see a date time setup there either.. Any Ideas?

Encore Pro 2?
Time off by hours?
If yes, it can be changed in the software. Software defaults to GMT time so you have to go to the company settings tab, then preference tab to change the time to your time zone.

If time is off by just a few minutes, that seems to happen with Respironics machines as time goes by.

I have the same question. My time is off by 21 minutes. Makes it a pain to compare to my pulse oximeter data. Supposedly, I have a brand new unit.
EPAP min=6, EPAP max=15, PS min=3, PS max=12, Max Pressure=30, Backup Rate=8 bpm, Flex=0, Rise Time=1,
90% EPAP=7.0, Avg PS=4.0, Avg bpm 18.3, Avg Min vent 9.2 Lpm, Avg CA/OA/H/AHI = 0.1/0.1/2.1/2.3 ... updated 02/17/12

Wonder if more of us Respironics users have machines that the minutes are off and we don't realize it. I don't have an oximeter to compare the computer clock to my machines reporting clock. I haven't needed to correlate times.
If I did, I might try resetting the computer clock to offset the differences just long enough to get the report and see if that helped. That would be the only thing I could think of to alter and it probably wouldn't work.

The only time change ability within Encore Pro software that I have been able to find is the time zone. Nothing that let's us do minutes.

There have been other threads about this problem.

Apparently PR decided to set the System One clocks to GMT time and there is NO option even in the clinical menu for setting the time of the system clock at all.

And apparently the clock battery that PR uses is not particularly good. And so the system clock seems to run slow and lose time over the days, weeks, months, and presumably years the machine is used.

Mine is only two months old and I've not yet noticed a serious problem (yet) with the time stamps from my machine. But it is a problem that I'm worried about---particularly since I'll likely have to use this machine for at least five years.

LOL! I guess the only thing to do is to set my pulse oximeter time to the Remstar time so they match easily.

Clocks and Watches are devices to tell and record the passage of time, and cost as low as $5. XPAP's and even computers aren't clocks, however the computer's time can be reset from the internet so it can be stable. The timing circuits in XPAPs and Computers are not meant to be clocks. With a XPAP what you see is what you get, you turn it on, time starts, you turn it off time stops, if you want it to keep a set time turn it on when you want the timer to start. Jim
