Climateline and Rainout

Post by Tiki » Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:44 pm

Hi everyone!

Every once in awhile I get rainout with the Resmed S9 Climateline hose (once per month about). I have the hose set to Auto. I thought this was not supposed to happen. Does anyone know why this happens or what I can do to stop it? It's the worst feeling waking up with all sorts of water running into my nose.

I have never had it happen to me. I guess you could try a hose cover. Is your room really cold?

Yes, the times it happens, the room has been cold. I have the temperature on my hose set to 68 and it was probably 58 in the house last night. However, it's been cold all week and I only got rainout once. I'm stumped as to why the hose seems to fail sometimes.

I was still getting rainout with my climateline also. I keep my bedroom rather cool. I surfed over to padacheek's website and placed an order for the short hose cover and the new barrel wraps Karen is offering for the LT and the FX masks. It is a miracle - no rainout at all. I highly recommend these 2 items if you are still getting rainout with the climateline.

Thank you Mary Ellen. I'll check those out. I didn't think that my mask hose might be causing the problem but that makes sense.

Mary-Ellen's comments are interesting and worth following up.
In winter I have had trouble with "Rainout" with my Swift Fx, but I thought it was due to condensation on my out-breath in the mask.
I never really found a solution to the problem.
