help translating readout from Encore2

Post by scottb908 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:00 pm

So I looked at this weeks graphs from Encore on how my theropy is going. I am very new at this and first time really looking at this. I was hoping to get a better indication of what some of these readings mean. Are they good/Bad and any thing that I can do to improve on them.

Everything looks great. You're doing fine.

You need to look at each line separately and then vertically at all the daily details charts together.

You have a few centrals spread pretty evenly throughout the night--probably turning over or moving in your sleep. Your hypopneas are in your transitional sleep as you are entering a later stage of sleep, but nothing major at all. Only one OA right at waking means NO obstructives during the night. Leak rates look great. Don't worry about Vibratory Snores--the machine tends to overscore them and you have very few.

I would not change a thing--as you continue to use it you'll get a feel for how your data trends, and you should be feeling pretty good with that nice of a chart so early in your treatment.

BTW just looks at the blog, thanks for writing things like that up. As a new comer to this its definitely confusing all the terms and readings.. Its great to be able to have someplace to go to get an understanding of it. I am honestly not really feeling much of a difference yet. I know it takes some time to. The hardest part is being able to make it through the night with the mask. I am finding myself waking at 4 or so and taking it off.. Mind you I work at 5 so not long with out the mask. I wake up feeling like there isnt enough air coming threw the hose. I toss and turn trying to straighten the hose and out of frustration take it off. I know there's a learning curve here but that seems to be the hardest part for me especially being a side sleeper
