after 7 years of loyal service, my Tyco Goodknight CPAP machine refuses to ramp up it's pressure above 1.
does anyone have any solutions to this?
thanks!
why doesn't my pressure ramp up above 1?
Re: why doesn't my pressure ramp up above 1?
Is it a 420E?
Is the pressure sensor hose connected or blocked?
The pneumotach may be clogged. Blow some compressed air into it .Clean filter.
Or SUCK REALLY HARD to see if you can revive it. Emergency repair attempt..... A vacuum can suck harder than you can.
Does the clock work? The battery may have died. They are only supposed to last 5 years. Read manual.
Do you have a way to download info? What are its settings? It may have lost memory due to battery .
Does it make a ticking sound?
Send it to me and I will fix it.

it's the 420S
pretty clever - I actually did the vacuum thing - the machine revived, but when left on its own the pressure kept fluctuating up and down. At times when it registered my level of "6" it still felt stronger and weaker and returned to it's low level.
the clock does work, the light goes on.
pressure sensor hose connected
no ticking sound
I can't download the data - I usually bring it to the doctor
thanks

Sounds like it's time for a new machine.

Make sure the sensor hose is clear. Blow compressed air through it to make sure.
Turn the ramp off.
Now carefully blow air into the sensor hole. You don't want to blow any garbage into it.
Make sure the filter is clean and the air inlet is clear. Blow compressed air into it. Make the blower spin freely.
If it makes a grinding sound and you can get it running just let it run. It will wear itself in.
Try it again.
If you feel adventurous you can seperate the case using a Torx #10 I think. Don't worry you can't hurt it.
Have you tried looking at the settings to make sure nothing has changed?
Good Luck,

Reading the information about the vacuum cleaners you have is important. This is to know what kind and how to fix if any problem occurs.
