How long will it take back to normal?

Post by Midas » Mon Feb 28, 2011 3:38 am

Hello All,

I am new here and I had been on CPAP machine for about 10 days. I noticed some inprovement such as the bitterness in my mouth is away, slightly more energetic. But I am still tired and miserable sometimes. My question is will the symptoms go away? How long normally would they take to disappear? Someone told me the AHI should be around 2-3 if the cpap machine is properly use. Is it true? Thanx in advance for helping...

There is no set time for things to get back to normal. Each person is an individual while some people are lucky enough to see a dramatic change almost immediately for most of us we have to just keep plugging away at it and accept small victories.

When you have time could you please go to the User Control Panel and then your Profile and equipment page to list your equipment (in text please) so people can see at a glance what you are using so they won't have to ask each time.

You have EncorePro2. What are the reports showing? Therapy seems to be optimal? then it just will have to take as long as it takes. Therapy not optimal? Leaks? then fix the problems to enhance the chances of moving the improvement up the time frame.

As Pugsy said, everyone is different. When I started cpap, my energy level increased immediately and I started feeling better. I have a variety of health issues (diabetes, high blood pressure, bad back and knees, etc...). After about 6 months, all my issues started slowly improving. The blood pressure, and glucose levels started dropping and I am slowly losing weight without trying. I probably had sleep apnea for 10 years before treating it. My body won't heal overnight. My body is slowly going the right direction and I feel better every day. Keep it up, and things will get better! God Bless!
