SLEEP QUALITY report very confusing

Post by cabo » Tue Feb 22, 2011 5:37 pm

well I went to read the sleep quality report for last night and it said 0 usage mask leak 7.2L. AHI--. Green smiley face. WHAT? Everything seemed to be working great. No leaks. Greatest night sleep. If I turn the report to 1 week (only had it 3 days) it says average pressure 10.2(range is set 9-13) AHI 0.9. I don't know. Did I deleate something. If you turn the machine on does it delete last night? Don'tcha just hate Newbees?

What time did you check the data?
I think the machine resets daily data at noon to zero.

Checked it about 2:30PM. Are you serious about it reseting? Why the 7.2L leak?

ResMed machines have always reset daily data to zero at noon. So people need to check it in the AM before noon for that previous nights data.

Your other data is still there and can be found but I do not use your type of machine so I am not the one to try to tell you how to get to it. Sorry. It's not gone, just not as easy to get to.

Unsure why the leak might show and nothing else unless that part doesn't reset. Again, someone who uses your machine could help better with that explanation.

Did you get the software? Do you want the software? Then you don't have to worry about what time you check your results.

Thanks for the info. I have not gotten the software yet. Yes I do want it and tried getting ahold of "Uncle Bob" with no luck. I am still really winging this machine and I don't know if I will be able to make any sense out of the software info.I am just not good without manuals.

Take a peek at the above thread that Uncle Bob started. Look at his profile signature and right below it I think you will find what you need. No need to wait for him to respond to your request.

Thanks so much. I have needed the clinical manual also since I got this machine. You are a life saver! Now I have a lot of homework to do. Last night was ok. AHI still says 0.9 Usage this am 6.6 hours. pressure average 11(range 9-13). Still says leak 9L. Can't figure that one out. Machine itself seemed to be more noisey.Leak did not seem to be coming from face mask. Still the green smiley face. Just don't understand it. Again thanks for your help. I truelly appreciate it.

You are most welcome.
Your AHI is great.

Leak of 9 L/min is still within acceptable range. Your mask is notorious for being difficult to tame for some people.
With time as you get used to its little quirks, that leak rate should come down some more. You are just starting this cpap journey and it takes time to get things "just right" and even then there will be bumps in the road. Don't beat yourself up over the leak rate and try to compare it to the 0. whatever that others may report. Remember you are new and some of us have already figured out what works best for us and some of us use a different type of mask that is more easily stabilized.

Once you start looking at the software reports you will get a handle on what is causing that leak rate. I expect you will see times with a substantial leak and time with minimal leak. All pointing to just getting the mask fit zeroed in.
