"Master Herbalist 'Snoring & Sleep Apnea Eze'"

Post by WestCoastCdnGrl » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:12 pm

Has anyone tried this?

My Dad wants me to look into this for my Mom (she's been dx'd with OSA and has a CPAP that she no longer uses, while he snores so loud that I can hear him some nights while I'm in the room below theirs, and she ends up having to go to the spare room to sleep - Dad was also tested for OSA but was shown not to test positive for it)

I'm a little skeptical about this product... it seems a little too good to be true/snake oil like in its premise/promises/testimonials. Dad seems gung-ho about getting this for her to try (personally, I think he's the one who needs it), but I thought I'd ask all of you knowledgeable people about it so that Dad doesn't spend his money on something that doesn't necessarily work.

Its bullshit. The INGREDIENTS: MSM, melatonin, chamomille, passionflower, skulcap, valerian

This is a mishmash of ingredients that do make some people drowsy. They do nothing to reduce snoring or respiratory events.

Not sure if it's okay to bump old topics, but basically this stuff is mostly for helping people fall asleep but doesn't really help for the actual breathing when asleep?

Correct - it does absolutely nothing, nada, zip for OSA. It helps you be drowsy that is all. If there was a herb that did anything it would be owned and patented by big pharma.

Gee...the contents are VERY similar to some herbal sleep aid capsules I have. They do help with becoming drowsy, but I don't see how they could help with anything else. If anything, I would think that snoring and apnea would increase if these pills actually help someone sleep deeper or more soundly.

I absolutely agree with the others. I love using herbal remedies - but there ISN'T one to treat sleep apnea. You cannot change the shape of your throat, etc. with herbs. The herbs listed are all used for relaxation and helping with sleep. If you can't fall asleep, they will help. But they won't help OSA.

It makes me wonder how many people actually buy this. How many herbs can you stuff in one product that are suppose to make you sleepy?
