My first followup with the sleep doc.

Post by acc0mpl1ce » Thu Feb 10, 2011 8:57 am

Went really well! I have reduced my AHI from 31 to 2! They adjusted my pressure a bit and my Doc believes that we can do better than that. I had only one minor leak.
I average 7 hours per night.

2 weeks in and I am feeling worlds better. I can't believe that this has been what has pained me for the last 10 years. Can't wait to see what 1 month is like.

Thanks to all for being so supportive.

Wow! Hey, congratulations!!! It took me considerably longer to get acclimated and more than just gradual relief. I'm delighted that you have been so fortunate so soon!!

Good job. I am like Slinky, my improvement has been soooooooo slow.

You are young person? Young compare to me coming up on 59. You like polls, wonder if there is a correlation between those of you that see improvement within a month (I consider that pretty quick) and those of us oldies that take longer because we have other issues?

Anyhow, well done and keep up the good work. I envy you.

Congratulations!! Your ahead of the curve for a new user. You should be feeling more energetic during the day now that your body doesn't have to work overtime while your sleeping.

Great news!

One question about the AHI--did they get that from reading your machine data? If so, I think you have the wrong machine listed in your profile because the S9 Escape does not have AHI data... you probably have the S9 Elite or S9 Escape Auto instead.

Congratulations, acc0mpl1ce! It is so good to hear positive news from another newbie. Keep it up and good luck!

I don't think that it necessarily has to do with age. I am just two weeks into treatment and I feel great. I feel as if I am coming out of a fog. No more morning headaches either. I could tell a difference the morning after I used the CPAP machine during my sleep study. I felt more alert and my head felt more clear. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea (AHI 41) at the end of December (30th), received my equipment January 26, and today (Feb.10) ResScan showed my average AHI for the past two weeks was 2.4. I hope to be able to lower it more. I will turn 62 in April. Getting that diagnosis really scared me. I am determined to do this. I've been able to solve problems and get answers to questions on this forum. Thank you all so much.
Nancy
