The best way to get it done right is to start an open-source hardware/software user group (maybe on github or sourceforge) that designs and creates it for free. There are 3D CNC fabricators that can spit out any virtual part physically (within given size parameters) out of a variety of materials. There is no reason why a concerned group of non-professionals couldn't design, build and implement the first open-source hardware and software CPAP machine that anyone could create in their own living room with a $1500 3D CNC, the right knowledge and access to a few critical parts like integrated circuits, memory and flow-generator motors. Heck even the flow generator could be designed open-source. The neat thing about open-source is that when enough heads get together, challenges that need fixing get done efficiently with open, measurable peer oversight.

My current favorite opensource hardware: Arduino

I I would not put all the bells and whistles on them either. Just back to basics, good heated humidifier, good algorithm and NO STOCKS it would be a company I would control. A firm, not a stock owned company. And Id sue anybody that got in my way and theyd be living under a bridge after i got done with them.

Why would someone who is obviously unhappy with this forum and has lashed out and insulted the nice people here who dedicate their time and experience to help others continue to linger unless they thrive on the negative attention? This does not speak well to your character Mikey and it may well be time to move on to something that makes you happy and leave the rest of us to do what we are here to do.....help and support one another with kindness and compassion!

Virgo, I just noticed your comment about your 3 military children. You should be very proud and thank them for their service. I'm Grammy to 3 precious granddaughters. BTW, I'm a Virgo too (8/29), when's your birthday?

I hope no one minds if I hijacked this thread!
