Going to FF Mask as primary
Going to FF Mask as primary
Sincw beginning cpap therapy three years ago and using Nasal pillows as primary I am now finally going to use the Mirage Liberty FF Mask as primary mask as I am tired of fighting the chin straps and mouth breathing along with the dry mouth syndrome. I thought I might train myself to not mouth breathe but that is not the case now. Hopefully, I will get better therapy with the FF mask and better sleep,

Smart move...
Finally an intelligent poster on this forum. FFMs can be rough at first, you have to play with them and watch the videos that come with them and read the instructions two or three times. Spend time adjusting the straps before you go to bed. It might take a couple nights to get it right. Also, the nose dial thing is important.
Good luck man, chin straps are for the birds.

Additional Comments: I actually own the Resmed S9 full maxed out APAP, but Id rather have an older S8 APAP as I think the S8 APAPs were better. |
The key to successful OSA therapy is 100% compliance, every night.
Re: Going to FF Mask as primary
I love the comfort of just nasal pillows (e.g. Swift FX is excellent) but I just cannot stop mouth breathing (tried chin strap, tape, dental paste, and combinations of the three) so I begrudgingly switched to a full face masked. First I tried the Liberty but I couldn't maintain a good nasal seal. Then I tried the Hybrid and that did the trick. It took several weeks before I was really comfortable with it and before I could consistently wear it without getting leaks but I am now very happy with it. The only thing I don't like is that to get a good seal, I have to tighten the lower head-strap which retracts my jaw which may be associated with worse OSA.DannyPh wrote:Sincw beginning cpap therapy three years ago and using Nasal pillows as primary I am now finally going to use the Mirage Liberty FF Mask as primary mask as I am tired of fighting the chin straps and mouth breathing along with the dry mouth syndrome. Anyway, been where you were, went through nearly six months of absolute hell until I finally found a setup that works reasonably well. Best of luck.
