If you could only have one mask - which one would it be?

Not all masks are alike and not all faces are alike.

No mask should be a one size small fits all small faces and this goes on up to large.

I know my mask of choice, but you have to do a trial and error.

Good luck in your decision.

Husband used the Ultra junk mask last night and again no sleep for him or me.

Can't wait for him to have his next sleep apnea test check up..

I hope for a good night sleep before long.

He had to put up with my Ultra hunk of junk so he is now paying me back.

Up until this past weekend when I got my new Mirage Swift, I would have said the Activa. I've had the best overall results of any mask (and I've tried a bunch) with the Activa. However, it does tend to sit kinda heavy on the schnoz. Since I've spent over $1,000 out of pocket this year on different masks and such, I decided to let my insurance company buy me a Swift to try. Well, so far, so good! That little devil is light as can be and really hugs my nostrils. My airflow volume is 18 on the inhale and 12 on the exhale so I was concerned that the Swift would not be able to stand up to it. But it has. It seals very well with no leaking whatsoever for me. My only complaint is that I find it to be rather loud. The Activa is VERY quiet so the noise from the Swift will take some getting used to but I believe I will. So far, I have not had the problem of the hose connector coming loose as some others have described.

Also raising my hand for the Swift. My pressure (REMstar auto with c-flex and HH) is ranged at 6-10 so I definitely am not a higher pressure person. For me the new REMstar auto and Swift combination is so silent that my wife actually had to look OVER me one night to see I had it on. I was sleeping on my side facing away from her. Really. It's that quiet. And she hears things I don't... hehehe.

Anyways... combination of nothing running between my eyes (that just bugs me), minimal headgear that WORKS (minor adjustments needed the first night to tweak it... no lab-ratting needed), and nasal pillows... it just works for me.

I love the Swift pillow as well but I don't understand the hard plastic clasp for the headbands. You end up with one of them directly behind your head and if you sleep on your back, you wake up with a lump on your head.

Other than that, it works great!

If that plastic thing on the back of the Swift bothers you, just get those straps kind of askew so that the plastic thing is more on the side. Does that make sense at all? Maybe put this way....instead of adjusting both straps of the back evenly, adjust one way over to the side to where it may have 2-3 inches slack...and the other side will have to go farther and only have 1 inch slack....so the plastic thing is off center and you don't hit it directly...

Works for me anyway.

I began with the "Comfort Classic"......kind of like the Holy Roman Empire....neither holy nor Roman, really....you get the idea.

Then I got the Ultra Mirage FF and seemed to do the trick......I need a FF mask because of regular/chronic sinus congestion. Initially, I had trouble with the whistling from the exhaust ports, but I seemed to adjust. In the meantime, I purchased a ComfortFull FF mast, though it seemed to seal not as well as the ResMed Ultra Mirage; it also has a rather loud exhaust port. Since I'm titrated at 10cm, I expected the exhause ports to be quieter.

Anyone have a mask that is ff and quiet?

Breeze. Takes a bit of tinkering; is sturdier and doesn't break as it once did; no leaks at all.

I've tried many masks - the first was the Activa - it's still my favorite - I thought I'd be able to find something better out there for me, but spent a lot of money trying to do so. I tried the Aura, Swift, Breeze.

The Activa is my number one mask. and when I am congested the Ultra Mirage FF mask.

The way I stopped the leaks - was a reccommendation from Rock and Roll - soaked them in vinegar/water misture for 8 hours. I did this a week ago, and I used the FF mask last night for the first time with absolutely no leaks.
