Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
Before my grandma passed away last August, she spent a lot of time in the hospital and rehab center. We stayed hopefully optimistic that she would come home again, but God had a different plan and her visits home were only for a couple days at a time and then back to the hospital. We tried our best at implementing a home health care regimine by hiring a round the clock nursing staff; renting a hospital bed and buying a lift chair and a ResMed Vpap Machine. Gram's insurance didn't authorize the purchase so my sisters and I pooled our resources and bought the machine from a local vendor, paying over $2400.00. We also purchased a variety of masks so gram could choose for herself and a lot of tubes and connections that remain in thier sterile packaging. The Bipap machine was turned on a couple of times by the nursing staff to train our family on how it works and to teach my grandma, too but she felt claustraphobic and kept taking the mask off. We eventually gave up trying and the machine remains in excellent condition and hasn't been touched since.
I wish I was in the position to donate the machine to someone who would appreciate it but I missed so much work and maxed out my credit to pay for everything we needed. That said, I don't expect to recover 100% of what we paid for the machine and accessories and I'm hoping that it will still go to someone who will appreciate it. Perhaps someone without health insurance or someone looking for a top of the line backup? All reasonable offers will be considered.
My name is Connie. I live in Newport Beach, CA. I will accept payment by cash, US postal money order or by credit card using paypal. I am willing to ship (insured) to anywhere in the United States within 24 hours after the payment clears with the buyer paying actual shipping charges. No extra fees or services charges.
I'd like to get this sold as soon as possible. Interested parites should contact me through this thread; by email at HMI_ProServe@yahoo.com or by telephone at 949 706 0856.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.. I am sure someone without health insurance needing a Vpap is going to jump right on it. Big bucks for that machine.jonnybee wrote:hmm...........
I hate to be so negative in the AM but this smells sort of spammy to me but I left it alone when I first saw it.

How many hours are on the machine? Can you list the masks that you have?
What do you reasonably expect to sell it for? I believe that cpapauction is not listing Resmed machines any more. Too bad as that would be the perfect venue for you to list.

FWIW, that number does appear to be residential (no pun intended for those that also search) to Newport Beach, CA.
I would be interested, but without an auction setting to let the market bid up I would imagine the seller will be asking/expecting too much.

Re: Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
This is the first time posting to a thread. I hope I'm replying the right way.
I appreciate the mention of an auction site. I tried to find a resale or consignment store to help me locally, but no luck. One advertisment popped up for a used medical equipment dealer in oklahoma but I found this site immediately following and thought I'd try here first. I don't know yet how to check the hours but I will figure it out and list them here. As for the masks I will take an inventory of them (and the accessories) and list them here as well.
I don't understand what smelling spammy means, but I get the idea it isn't a compliment. We didn't have insurance and we bought this machine because we felt it was important. I'm assuming that the person making unsolicited comments about that probably HAS insurance and never had to face what we did.
Anyway...
My sisters and I purchased the machine from a local vendor using a home health care nurse as a liasion. I visited the ResMed site before the purchase to check the features and the price. (a little over $2400 and what I felt was the best choice for us)Some of the accessories came from the vendor and some came from the nurse that helped us (those were at no cost.) A couple months after my grandma died I asked the vendor if I could return the machine or if he could help me sell it to someone else and not surprisingly, he wasn't interested.
Considering its condition, its features and the number of accessories included, I would be happy with an offer of somewhere in the neighborhood of $1100 plus the actual shipping and insurance costs. I think thats fair and generous on both parts. It's not my intention to get rich here or take advantage of anyone. I thought this listing could be a win / win situation for someone who needs resp. therapy and since I do not have any use for it myself, I might recover a small percentage of our financial loss. I will unpack the machine this morning to get the information you requested. If there is anything else you'd like to know, please post it here and be specific so I can find it. Thanks for your time and interest. - Connie

Re: Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
The number is residential... My home number in Newport Beach. The address here is 657 Alderwood Drive. My last name is Barnes and my cell phone number, assigned to the same address is 949 610 4770. I don't use my cell phone much so the house number is the best to reach me.
Re: Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
If this is a real story...you are totally nuts to put your name, address and phone numbers on the internet, this is not a secure site. Otherwise, this email sounds VERY familiar-----seems to me we had almost the same story about a month ago.

Re: Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
I am not totally nuts nor am I rude and paranoid (ahem). I am listed in the phonebook and not concerned one bit if anyone sees my basic information. As far as a repeat ad goes... I think its awesome if someone else posted here to pass along a decent piece of equipment to someone who critically needs it.
LSAT - Thank you very much for the link. I thought I was doing something reall y good by making this available but. I am absolutely shocked and insulted by some of the responses I've received so far. I won't be taking much more abuse before forgetting this whole idea andmoving on.

Re: Have a new ResMed Vpap Auto25 to sell
So sorry to offend. My bad attitude resulted from buying a machine (without insurance) from someone through an ad like yours and never getting anything put promises to send after they got my money. I imagine you can see where I come from. My apology for being nasty.. I am snowed in having a blizzard here, bored and your post reminded me of the money I lost. Not your fault and I shouldn't be a bitch but sometimes I just can't help it.

Pugsy.. Apology accepted and I'm truly sorry for your experience, too. My ad is 100% sincere and although I can understand the skepticism, any concerns can be calmed by knowing that paying with Paypal protects both the buyer and seller from fraud. The safest way to complete this type of transaction is for the seller (me) to email the buyer an invoice with a detailed, accurate description of the item I am selling and for the buyer to respond to the invoice posting funds into my paypal account. The item sold is then shippped, insured and with a tracking number issued by the carrier or the post office that can be accessed online.(The seller is allowed 10 days to ship but I will commit to ship within 24 hours) A copy of the tracking number is automatically sent to the buyer in an email and he/she can monitor delivery. When the package is delivered the seller gets a notification from the carrier and contacts paypal. Paypal then verifies the delivery and makes sure there are no issues before releasing the funds to the seller. From there, it takes an additional 2-3 for the funds to transfer to the sellers back account. If. for any reason. payal cannot verify the delivery with the tracking number or by contacting the buyer, they hold the funds for 21 days before releasing the hold and then 2-3 more days before transfering the money to the sellers bank account. Allowing the buyer the opportunity to open a case and file a claim to have the money refunded. After 7 days for paypal to investigate the claim. they make a decision on how to proceed based on information and proof provided by both the seller and they buyer. Additionally, if an item is damaged during shipping the carriers insurance pays for the loss so both parties are protected there as well.
I hope this information helps you regain confidence in safely buying online and allows you the opportunity to take advantage of rare finds and bargains... Connie

You are not the first new person whose first post is to sell something. That always raises suspicion as it should. You will not help your cause by being overly sensitive.BiPapUser1 wrote:Pugsy.. That said perhaps you won't mind telling what your email addy stands for? Surely it has some meaning, right?

Connie,
The person that screwed me over was someone I had done business with before. I have used PayPal often. That was what was so surprising to me. I trusted too easily. Anyway, lesson learned and I still have his name, address and phone number and if I ever get to Tacoma, Washington I think I will go break his legs......
