Alex when you instal the ResScan software on a windows PC the clinicians manual can be found on your hard drive under c:\program files\resmed\ResScan3\ResScan Clinician's Manual.pdf

See if you can locate that, it will answer your questions.

Page 30 explains the detailed data.
you need to turn on "sleep quality" on the S9 unit, thats how you get the machine to record detailed data.
you need to sleep with the SD card in the machine at night for the machine to record the detailed data.
you need to tell the software to download the detailed data, the default is summary data only. See download procedure on page 19, use select button.
Download the data to ResScan on your computer at least every 7 days if you want ALL the detailed data.

Thanks for getting back to me and providing with where the manual is located...

My S9 has been set up so that at the end of the month I remove the SD card and mail it into the clinician who in turns sends the report to my doctor. And then the card is returned to me.
I checked my settings. The "Sleep Quality" is on "Usage" - which I assume means that the sleep quality is "on" when the machine/blower is turned on.
The SD card has been in the machine since I've started on it. I've been able to obtain some data directly from the S9 on a weekly basis: usage, air pressure, leak measurement, AHI, Total AI, Central AI...

The only thing I want to be sure of is that when I download the data via the software, it won't remove it from the SD card - as it has to be sent into the clinician. Can you confirm that for me? Obviously, I'm playing clinician here - when they would rather have me wait until they download it and forward the report to the doctor... And, of course, I need also to meet my usage compliance set by Medicare.

playing clinician and reading your own data will not result in the death penalty at the doctors office as all the data on the card is not deleted

The flow data (every breath you take) only survives 7 days on the card.

If you want to play with the software before you get the machine you can use the example data provided.

Open ResScan
Click Open patient
Select "Examples" from patient group drop down menu.
Select "S9 Autoset" 4th option from the bottom of patient list, click open.
Click on review data and explor the stats, summary and detailed graph tabs.

No, the default is "Usage", which means hours of use. You want to set to "On", in order to see your Sleep Quality report on the LCD screen, which is usage, mask fit and AHI data. See page 19 of your Clinical Guide.

How does this software work? as the machine i have i don't own so to speak, its updated and download at the hospital at regular intervals, but never know what any of it means...my next app is in april. i'd like to know how and what each function does...not to change just to read and understand...don't want to mess around with it lol

I was able to load Rescan on a windows Xp lap top succesfully. I also sent my son the Sd card . He downloaded it to a Window 7 home computer with rescan on it. He was able to send it to me as a PDF file. It looks just like the report the DME gave me.
He will be out of he Country for a week so I can,t get any information from him until he returns.
On my installation I can't find a way to save it as a pdf file.

1-Is there a way to have more then one day of extended information? I do get the 3 graphs but only that day of data.
2- How do you guys save the data?

I found a card reader for SD files that works using rescan in Windows XP. It costs$ 8.00 in Walmart. It's a Targus
TGR-MSD500.

If you read Uncle_Bob's response above - who was my helpful guru in this area - it will give you the answers that you are seeking on how to use the Rescan software and obtain greater details than you can access directly from the machine. There is also a video (see post replies above) which will demonstrate how you can read the data the machine offers without the more detailed approach of the software. Just read through the posts above carefully and it will address most of the questions you have in obtaining data from the Resmed S9.

Hijacking the thread....when I look at my "events" in my ResScan software, does the number that the red arrow is graphing mean the lenth of time that I stopped breathing?

I believe it does give length of apnea event in seconds. I don't have a report right in front of me but I assume you are talking about the numbers above the little event markers and the numbers often vary?.
