Dane, I been trying the F&P full face FlexiFit #432 which is almost like this one for a month and found it to be LOUSY!

1) As you said unless it's the "right size" it leaks. Well my leaks a lot unless I tie the headgear very tight.
2) To snap in the headgear buckle on right side is a nightmare. To take it off is easy if you pull the thin strap away from the face.
3) The two metal wires holding the headgear straps in front come off their plastic seats all the time.
4) The plastic buckles are paper thin. Not sturdy as Resmed's FF Quattro.

Hello Dane,
Just wanted to let you know how helpful your reviews have been. You do an excellent job! I have the Forma in my stash of alternate FF masks, and you're right, you do have to make sure you get the correct fit. I was sent home with a small, but found it to be too small as it really squashed my face. Now I'm trying a Medium insert, but of course I'm having leak problems. As you said, the silicone is very soft and it is a comfortable mask, if I could only get the seal right. I'm not ready to give up yet, though. Thanks again for your videos.

While the cushion of the Forma is very soft, I also found that the mask put more pressure on the sides of the bridge of my nose than I was used to with my ComfortGel Full. The warning about leaks from the chin area is dead on - I tried both the medium and large cushion sets (both sizes came together in my box) but couldn't get either size to remain without leaks for very long. Many people like the Forma or the other F&P masks, but my trial allowed me to better appreciate my GomfortGel.

Hi Dane

I found your presentation to be totally different to how I fit my Forma FF Mask, and although the presentation was as per specs, I think you have to go a bit further, and emphasize that mask fittings are extremely individual, and experimentation is usually necessary.

My Forma mask fits well, with no leaks, and has replaced the Quattro and F & P 432.

Here's how -

The top strap goes over the very top of my head.

The middle strap goes a little lower down than you have it.

And the bottom strap goes as far down the neck as I can get it.

The strap pressure is very light compared to what I have had to use on other masks.

also

Fitting it under the chin as shown can cause problems with the jaw line. I have found the best way to fit it is to follow the jaw line with the bottom lip of the mask just catching underneath the chin. As this follow the contours of the face it is less likely to cause leaks. I have never been able to have a successful fit the way you describe, and you talk as though that is the only way, which can lead newcomers astray.

And you do not mention it comes in 2 sizes.

You have a great opportunity in the videos to teach some basic mask fitting skills, as well as showing an individual mask. But please remember, the specs are for average guidance only. Users must be told this.

Thanks for posting.

cheers

Mars
