Good to hear Kelly. I'm a new CPAP user too and still have a heck of a time falling asleep with the machine. Once I'm asleep, I'm fine.

Her machine, the ICON Premo, does not have SensAwake. Only the ICON Auto has it.

You're right, Hueffenhardt. Kelly's "Premo" (being a CPAP, not an autopap) couldn't use that, so doesn't have it. My mistake. Thanks for the clarification.

Is it bad that my machine does not know when I am awake? Would it have been better to have an auto? I know very little and this is the one the doctor ordered, so I assume its what is right for me, but then again, my mother use to say you know what ASSUME spells. LOL

Don't worry about the Sensawake feature. I was excited about it when the machine was first introduced. However, I don't see anyone posting that Sensawake is a significant advantage for them.

Having the software is more important.

I don't think that matters a bit.

I think it's nicer to have an auto since that's like having two machines in one. An auto can be used in CPAP mode (just like your machine uses) or can be used in autotitrating mode... varying the pressure as needed. Some people do better with CPAP, some with autotitrating CPAP. So an autopap lets you have both options in one machine.

It's not necessary to have an autopap, though, to get pefectly effective treatment. Plain CPAP can give that, too.
