A-ha moment for nasal pillows

Post by needanap » Sun Jan 23, 2011 8:09 am

6 months on CPAP with mostly a good experience, and I'm off to the DME supplier to buy replacement headgear. I'm using Resmed's Swift FX headgear with nasal pillows - do you know that it now comes with pink face pads (feeling very feminine with my new nose hose).

First night: leak, leak, leak, adjust, adjust, adjust (several times during the night)
Second night: leak, leak, leak, adjust...well you know the drill.
Third day: Needed two naps, there MUST be something wrong! A thorough inspection showed that the nasal pillows had what appeared to be only one layer of wall - the part that goes inside the nose. Wait, I see the inner wall - it's inverted! So I popped it out so the 2 pillows now show double walls. Quality inspector must have missed that!
Third night: Ahhh, sleep, sleep, sleep.

Just thought I'd share...I haven't had many "helpful hints" for this forum, but I sure have gained lots of knowledge. Thank you to all...

What a great "helpful hint," needanap! Bet that's happened to some other people, too. Good thing to check.
